Hi, I’m Peter Ericson.
Much of my life revolves around movies. I watch a lot of them in my quest for cinematic enlightenment, and every movie I watch gets logged and rated on Letterboxd (all my old movie reviews are available there, too). I work as a senior projectionist and film booker at Lidköpings Folkets Hus. Furthermore, I am the chairperson of the Lidköping Film Society, and I serve as a board member of the Swedish Federation of Film Societies. I am also an active contributor of film data to IMDb and TMDb.
When I’m not watching or showing movies, one of my pastimes is translating preferably free and open-source software from English to Swedish. Projects that I have been or am currently contributing to include Aegis Authenticator, Breezy Weather, Lawnchair, Niagara Launcher, Olauncher, OpenBoard, OpenCalc, Prognoza, SmartFTP, and Weawow. Another interest of mine is science and technology in general.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Skövde (my dissertation). After receiving my degree, I went on to study theoretical philosophy for two years at the same university, primarily philosophy of physics and philosophy of mind. I was particularly interested in quantum mechanics and David Bohm’s ideas of implicate and explicate orders and the holomovement.
